Royal Melbourne Show

Springtime in Melbourne is show time and this year Victoria’s favorite event - the Royal Melbourne Show - celebrates its 154th year. Showcasing agricultural and rural excellence, the Melbourne Showgrounds is transformed into an 11-day celebration that brings the best of the country to the city. Wood chopping, sheep shearing, milking and blacksmith displays are just some of the highlights for Show-goers. It's an event not to be missed, featuring prize-winning horses, sheep, goats, cattle, alpacas and chooks, all just a stone’s throw away from the CBD.  There is also the largest dog show in the Southern Hemisphere with more than 4,500 canine entrants each year.
