This will be the neleventh Harvest Festival to be held at Warratina Lavender Farm and will be another great day for the family. Proceeds from the day will be donated to the local Country Fire Authority There will be many attractions including bagpipers piping through the lavender rows, highland dancing, traditional craft demonstrations and school bands. While you are being entertained with music and dancing there will be a large display of old time machinery demonstrated by the Yarra Valley Machinery Preservation Society, as well as many old time craft demonstrations. These will include lace making, spinning and wood-turning & blacksmithing. The air will be filled with the fragrance of the lavender being harvested as you sample local foods and wine with beer tastings. The highlight of the day is the harvest and you can buy your fresh lavender bunch as it is picked by traditionally dressed harvesters. Lavender scones and lavender ice-cream will be some of the delicacies for you to try.
