Camping – Grampians
Get outdoors and pitch a tent in the vast wilderness of the Grampians National Park, where there are many there are many camping grounds in a variety of settings that are easy to access by car.
All camping grounds in the park have toilets, picnic tables and fireplaces. There is no booking system – it’s first in, first served. Obtain your camping permit along with maps and directions on how to get to the camping grounds at Brambuk - The National Park and Cultural Centre.
Grampians National Park:
Stapylton
Large camping ground at the base of Mount Stapylton in the northern Grampians offering wonderful walking opportunities. Toilets, fireplaces, and picnic tables.
Access via Olive Plantation Road off Northern Grampians Road or Horsham Halls Gap Road.
Smith Mill
Old mill site among pines and native bush near the spectacular MacKenzie Falls and Lake Wartook in the northern Grampians. Toilets, fireplaces and picnic tables.
Access via Smith Road off Wartook Road.
Plantation
A large campground, north of Halls Gap, set in a picturesque clearing in an old pine forest.
Toilets, fireplaces and picnic tables.
Access via Mt Zero Road or Pines Road.
Troopers Creek
A small campgroud in a forested area of the Northern Grampians. Toilets, fireplaces and picnic tables.
Access from Roses Gap Road. Not suitable for vans.
Borough Huts
Picturesque campground beside Fyans Creek.

Access from Grampians Tourist Road.10 kilometres south of Halls Gap.
Wannon Crossing
A small campground in a forested area by the Wannon River in the Southern Grampians.

Buandik
Forested area on Billimina Creek near a number of aboriginal sites in the south-west Grampians.

Access via Billywing Road off Henty Highway.
Little Desert National Park:
Horseshoe and Ackle Bend
Set along the banks of the Wimmera River near Dimboola.

5 minutes from Dimboola, turn at the Post Office in the main street.
Kiata Sanctuary Little Desert
Natural bush setting.

10 minutes south of Kiata, which is on the Western Highway east of Nhill.
Mt Arapiles-Tooan State Park:
Mt Arapiles
Set at the base of Mount Arapiles, this camping ground is popular with rock climbers.
