Yarra Valley Scenic Route

Yarra Valley

The Yarra Valley Scenic Route is an alternative route that takes you off the main roads and into beauty the of the Yarra Valley, past boutique wineries and local eateries.

The route takes you to the north-western end of the Yarra Valley, where the thinner soils result in exciting, crisp, clean wine flavours that are typical of a cool climate region, but with an intensity that is unique.

  • Leave the freeway at the Burke Road North exit and proceed north following Heidelberg signs to Lower Heidelberg Road (Route 44)
  • Continue on Route 44, which travels along Lower Plenty Road, then along Main Road to Eltham

  • Continue along the Kangaroo Ground-St Andrews Road, turning off to Watsons Creek or Panton Hill Vineyard and Winery before arriving at Panton Hill
  • Northwards past Panton Hill Hotel to St Andrews where, if you can time your trip the weekly Saturday market will be in full swing
